Cooking, Opera Discussion Among Classes Offered At Scarsdale Adult School

Alex Diaz, a sports psychology consultant to Concordia College, will lead a sports psychology class on Oct. 6 from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. at Scarsdale High. Tuition is $60. 

Chef Jennifer Rossano will lead an autumn salads class at Westchester Reform Temple on Oct. 9 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuition is $45. 

Eric Jennings will return to teach Understanding Opera: Discussions of the Met's Live in HD Opera Series at Scarsdale Public Library on Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. Jennings will cover “Il Trovatore" on Oct. 7, “Les Pecheurs des Perles” on Oct. 21 and "Turandot" on Oct. 28. Classes are $25 each or $60 for the series.

Alen Steinfeld, co-author of "From Propelnya to Pittsburgh: The Deaktor Family,” will lead Genealogy: An Introduction to Discovering Your Heritage starting Oct. 8 from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Tuition for the four-session course is $100. 

Marilyn DeRight, adjunct professor of English at Iona College, will teach Movie Matinees and Newer Paths in Short Fiction. Classes will run in four-week sessions from 1 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday afternoons at Scarsdale Public Library starting Oct. 6 and again on Nov. 10. Tuition is $85 for each four-week session.
