"My father always said he gave me a story," said Gradwohl, an actress who now resides in Los Angeles (her parents are still in Scarsdale). "I constantly had to adapt and adjust which definitely helped in honing my acting skills."
The former Westchester resident, who attended Westchester Hebrew High School in Mamaroneck, is a bicoastal Israeli-Swiss-American triple citizen who has been building a solid reputation in TV and film starting at a young age.
Most recently, she was in an episode of "Girl Meets World," the follow-up series to "Boy Meets World." The premise of the show is based on Cory and Topanga Matthews' (Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel) married life with their daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard) who faces similar life lessons related to family, friends, and school.
In the episode titled “Girl Meets the Tell Tale Tot,” Riley tells a lie so she and her friend can attend a party. Later, she has to deal with the guilt of sneaking around her parents. Gradwohl joins the episode as Harriet, showing Riley some wacky sorority fun.
Gradwohl was excited to learn the creator and writers of the show wrote Harriet with her in mind after seeing her in previous auditions.
Gradwohl's numerous television credits include "The Middle," "Jessie" and Chelsea Handler's "After Lately," among others. Her film work includes James Franco's "Killing Animals," and "Little Loopers" starring Boyd Kestner and Natalie Imbruglia.
In addition, she's the co-creator and star of the award-winning online series "Bad Nannies" and star of the viral YouTube show "Girls Are Assholes." She's also done theater work and improv and lists "wiggling her ears" as a skill on her resume -- "anything to set yourself apart," she said.
Gradwohl admits she often plays "young" -- from 13 to 20 -- which is fun because she's always looked younger than her years.
Audiences can see her online in a series of sketches titled "The Dating Chronicles" as well as in the film, "Spare Parts," premiering at the Outfest Film Festival next month in Los Angeles.
