Crews work from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday. The village Board of Trustees asks residents to observe the following guidelines:

  • Pile only leaves neatly on the grass near the edge of the road or curb line.
  • Use only biodegradable paper bags for yard waste such as dead plants, grass clippings and twigs. General waste collection will continue, but all yard waste must be placed curbside in the proper bags.
  • Do not put leaves or other waste in the roadway, blocking walkways or sidewalks, on other people’s property, in a manner that blocks the flow of stormwater to drains or where they create a visual obstruction for motorists and pedestrians.
  • Do not place any other materials, including yard waste, with the leaves; these items will not be picked up.

Village officials ask residents not to put out any leaves after Dec. 1.

They are currently studying whether to continue the long-standing fall leaf collection program in 2015 and beyond, according to a press release.
