WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- For Westchester County residents suffering from chronic back pain, one of New York's highest regarded spine surgeons is available closer than ever before.

White Plains Hospital recently welcomed Dr. Andrew Casden as its new Chief of Orthopedic and Spine Surgery.

A board-certified orthopedic spinal surgeon with experience in both traditional and minimally-invasive spinal surgery, Casden's approach to spinal conditions focuses on offering the most appropriate, personalized treatment plan for each patient. A proponent of therapy and corrective treatment, he ensures all options are explored thoroughly before ever recommending surgery.

When surgery is deemed necessary, his specializations include the treatment of herniated discs, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis and degenerative diseases of the spine. He also brings extensive experience in the field of spinal deformity, scoliosis and kyphosis to the White Plains Hospital team.

Casden received his medical education from the Cornell University Medical College, and completed his surgical internship at New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center. He continued his orthopedic residency at the Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute and was a spine fellow at the Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago.

Prior to White Plains Hospital, Casden was previously Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center and School of Medicine and the Associate Director of the Spine Institute at Beth Israel Medical Center.

Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Casden has been consistently named one of the areas top doctors, earning praise as one of New York Magazine’s Best Doctors, Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors in the New York Area and a Top Doctor by U.S. News & World Report.

Patients can make an appointment with Dr. Casden through his office at 22 Westchester Avenue, Suite 101, West Harrison, by calling 914-946-1010.
