In an effort to promote a safe and enjoyable Halloween in the village, the Scarsdale Police Department issued an alert on Monday warning that there will be a zero-tolerance approach to inappropriate or illegal activities in the area during the traditionally mischievous holiday.
Police said that eggs and shaving cream will proactively be confiscated, and officers will notify the parents of any unaccompanied youth found behaving inappropriately.
A voluntary curfew has also been put into effect for Tuesday night. Children under 11 are encouraged to be home by 7 p.m., with older children in by 8 p.m. All trick-or-treating should be concluded no later than 9 p.m., according to police.
Police noted that all trick-or-treating will be monitored by police, parents and designated volunteers who are in direct comment with the Scarsdale Police Department.
