Beginning on Monday, Scarsdale Village Manager Stephen Pappalardo warned that they will once again be flushing pipes in an effort to prevent discoloration of water during the heavy demand periods of the summer, causing some slight inconvenience to residents this week.

During the week, cleaning operations will continue in the West Quaker Ridge, Scarsdale Meadows and Quaker Ridge Neighborhood Associations.

According to Pappalardo, the slight discoloration will settle out in a short period of time. The water is safe for consumption, but may stain clothes if they are washed
