Faculty members Elizabeth Condon and Janet Grice will lead this intensive, hands-on workshop, which is suitable students from beginner to advanced.

"While discussing the idiosyncrasies of the two instruments, participants will get practice in constructing, scraping, shaping and adjusting reeds to suit their needs," organizers noted.

You don't need to bring reed tools, but bring your instrument. The last 45 minutes of the workshop will be spent playing together in a double reed ensemble.

The session will run from 10 a.m. to noon. Hoff-Barthelson is located at 25 School Lane, in Scarsdale.

The workshop is made possible, in part, by ArtsWestchester with support from Westchester County Government, and the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
