11 Children Receive First Holy Communion At Bronxville Church

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Eleven children -- from Bronxville, Mount Vernon, Eastchester, Tuckahoe, Pelham and Scarsdale -- received their First Holy Communion at the Village of Lutheran Church in Bronxville, at a service on Sunday, March 13.

Pastors Morris Mayer, Robert Hartwell and Scott Gemmin with First Communicants Gavin Benton, Wylie Coleman, Claire Elliott, Tommy Forliano, Oliver Nordahl, Elle Pinto, Sofia Renzo, Cullen Slattery, Sean Slattery, Olivia Sturek and Janelle Sullivan.

The students received communion after attending, with a parent or guardian, three classes presented by Senior Pastor Robert Hartwell, and a celebratory first communion lock-in on Friday, March 4. 

The lock-in consisted of games, devotions and banner making in preparation of First Communion Sunday. 

The Bronx Village Lutheran Church and The Chapel School are at 172 White Plains Road in Bronxville (across the street from Concordia College).
