“We were so pleased with the excitement around our SummerFest entertainment for our 60th anniversary this year that we wanted to extend the celebration into the autumn season with our very first fall movie series,” said Liz Pollack, Senior Marketing Manager, Cross County Shopping Center. “Local families and visitors alike are encouraged to come to the mall to watch popular family-friendly movies, bring their lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy all the entertainment Fall Flicks has to offer.”

Each night, the event will begin at 7:00pm on The Green (the center of the mall) with family entertainment, including a meet-and-greet with cartoon characters. The movie will start on an outdoor big screen when the sun goes down at about 7:30pm, including one movie showing set up like a drive-in movie reminiscent of the 1950s. To coincide with the celebration, select retailers will be offering exclusive coupons to shoppers.

The movie lineup, sponsored by Westchester Community College, is as follows:

  • Saturday, September 20, 2014, Frozen
  • Friday, September 26, The Avengers
  • Friday, October 3, Maleficent
  • Friday, October 10, The Princess Bride (drive-in movie - attendees should park their vehicles on the north lot, facing Cross County Parkway)

“We’re really excited to show Maleficent because it is not set to be released on DVD until November 4, so this will be a sneak peek viewing to many of our visitors,” added Pollack. “And our drive-in movie is sure to excite the crowd, as we’ll have waiters and waitresses on roller skates serving popcorn to our audience as a nod to the 1950s. It’s going to be a fun event for everyone.”

Cross County Shopping Center is also offering VIP seats through a social media campaign using #FallFlicksCC where followers and fans can post about their favorite movies on Facebook.com/crosscountyshoppingcenter.
