SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- The Child Care Council of Westchester, Inc., in Scarsdale, is once again a Giving Tuesday participant.
Its goal this year is to raise $10,000 on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 1, to support its child care scholarship campaign -- the Early Opportunity Fund.
The Child Care Council of Westchester is a not-for-profit organization that champions the healthy development of children, families and our community by promoting quality early care and education.
Quality early childhood care and education, from birth to age five, makes a difference that lasts a lifetime. Interactions at this phase stimulate brain growth, and research proves this is the best chance to set the stage for success later in life.
Kids who get this quality early care benefit from lifelong better physical and emotional health, are less likely to engage in risky or dangerous behavior, and are more likely to graduate high school, be successful in college and the workforce, and contribute to their community in positive ways as an adult.
The Child Care Council of Westchester wants to make sure every child in Westchester has the best start and the opportunity to succeed--no matter the circumstances of their birth. That’s where its Early Opportunity Fund comes in–raising money for scholarships for families who otherwise could not afford quality early care.
