Bill Haskel, Tom Hoynes, and David Helgans paid a visit to Greenacres School. The men graduated in 1972.

Talking to students in Catherine Manin's classroom, the visitors told of playing baseball and treasured teachers, telling what it was like before computers, internet and text messaging, said a release.

The men have remained friends through the years, since graduating from Greenacres, and were also classmates at Scarsdale High School.

The visit was planned last year when the men contacted Manin after winning a silent auction item at a school gala, marking its 100th anniversary.

“Greenacres looks almost exactly the same today as it did in our day," said Helgans, an advertising executive from Darien, Conn.

“We left Greenacres in 1972,” he said to the students, mostly born in 2006. “That was 44 years ago – which is crazy, because I’m only 39," he joked.
