SCARSDALE, N.Y.-- The Jewish Community Center in Scarsdale will host a series of camps for children next week to close out the summer. The JCC is billing the camps as the "Last Blast/End of Summer Specialty Camps."
Three different camps will take place during the course of the week. One of the activities will be the "Three Up, Three Down Baseball Camp."
The baseball camp will consist of fielding and hitting stations to teach children the fundamentals of baseball and will include a surprise guest Aug. 16, the final day of the camp. Children ages 6-12 are welcome to enroll.
Camp will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 3 p.m. daily. Cost for the camp is $90 per day or $400 for the week. Campers already enrolled in the JCC 2013 summer program will receive a discounted rate of $350 for the entire week.
For children not interested in our national pastime, the JCC also will have a "Cheer Tumbling Camp" for campers ages 7-12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 12-16. Campers will be taught basic cheer tumbling fundamentals, like cartwheels, roundoffs and back handsprings. Cheer camp will cost $75 per day or $300 for the week.
The JCC also will have drama and dance instruction for campers ages 4-7. The drama and dance mini camp will cost $75 per day or $300 for the week.
