SCARSDALE, N.Y.-- The Scarsdale Library has released its schedule of adult programs for October. Here's a look at what's coming up:
The library will host a presentation by board-certified breast-imaging radiologist Dr. Jiyon Lee about screening for breast cancer on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The foreign film series will continue with a screening of "The Kid With A Bike," winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 2011. There will be two screenings of the film, one on Oct. 9 at 1p.m. and one on Oct. 11 at 1 p.m.
The Scarsdale Library's Hadassah Film Festival will screen two films in October. "Ushpizin," a story of a devout Orthodox couple down on their luck, will be screened on Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.
Later in the month, the film series on Jewish perspectives will continue with "A Bottle In The Gaza Sea," a love story between a young Israeli and a Palestinian, on Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.
The "Not Your Kid's Book Club for Adults" will meet on Oct. 16 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. to discuss October's book, "Ungifted," by Gordon Korman. Click here to register for the event.
Nancy's Book Club will meet on Oct. 23 at 1 p.m. to discuss "The Greater Journey: Americans in Paris" by David McCullough. Please call 722-1301 to register.
