Scarsdale's Joseph DeLuca Dies at 80

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Joseph DeLuca, of Scarsdale, died Feb. 14 at the age of 80.

He was born in Mt. Vernon on July 27, 1931 to Anellio and Antonetta DeLuca. He married Theresa Zambardino on Sep. 8, 1957 in St. Philip Neri Church in Bronx, N.Y. DeLuca was retired after 35 years with the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation.  

His favorite team was the New York Yankees and he enjoyed listening to classic Neapolitan songs. Nicknamed "Pop," he cherished the company of his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.  

DeLuca is survived by his wife Theresa, his daughters Toni (Nick) Cicchetti and Mariellen Husain and his sister Janet (Antonino) Conte. He was predeceased by his sister Rose and his brothers Tony, Salvatore and Michael DeLuca. 

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Yannantuono Burr Davis Sharpe Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. The funeral mass begins at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Scarsdale. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
