SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Scarsdale Boy Scouts Troop 2 is offering another year of programs for local boys.
“Boy Scouting delivers a quality, youth-run, value-based program of character development and leadership training to boys ages 11 to 17,” said Troop Chairperson Ed Mann.
The scouts of Troop 2 learn first aid and life skills such as fire building and prevention and the use of tools.
They meet for monthly campouts from September through May and a one-week summer camp at Camp Waubeka. The troop participates in a "Do a Good Turn" weekend at the Graymoor Spiritual Life Center in Garrison every fall.
Scouts and their families can also participate in canoeing, white water rafting, rock climbing, hiking, skiing, cooking, backpacking and more.
Troop 2 meets every Thursday from September through June at 7:15 p.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary's lower church.
