Scarsdale's Joanna, Joning Wang Selected To Perform At Carnegie Hall

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Three students from Music Conservatory of Westchester clarinetist Catherine Stanton of White Plains and violinists Joanna and Joning Wang of Scarsdale were selected to perform at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall on Sunday, March 1.

The students were among 30 performers who were honored with the Music Development Program’s 2014 Tri State Certificate of Excellence. 

These students earned this honor in recognition of achieving the highest marks on the Music Development Program’s spring assessments. Joanna and Joning Wang study with Sarah Wetherbee, the Conservatory’s Dean of Students and Faculty. Stanton studies with Justin Stanley, associate dean of students and faculty. 

“Conservatory teachers are outstanding musicians who inspire their students to do their very best,”Jean Newton, the Conservatory’s executive director, said. “This commitment to excellence  is reflected in their achievements. Congratulations to Catherine, Joanna and Joning!”
