Cool, blustery winds greeted golfers participating in the annual fundraiser that was the brainchild of White Plains resident Ralph Watts. Money will be split between Lifting Up Westchester/Grace's Kitchen and the Food Bank of Westchester.

Twenty-two Scarsdale Golf Club golfers participated in the annual event that's timed for just before Thanksgiving.

Taeko Hattori of Pound Ridge was the first women to compete in the tournament. Also this year, the tournament drew its youngest players ever -- Alex Mayer, 13, and Zach Hoexter, 14, both from Scarsdale.

Funds donated will help Lifting Up Westchester and the Food Bank for Westchester provide more than 7,000 holiday meals to individuals and families in need over the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s period. Over its nine-year history, the Turkey Shoot Out raised $51,450 to feed the hungry.

Lifting Up Westchester is a non-profit organization with a mission to restore hope to Westchester County’s men, women and children in need by providing them with food, shelter and support.
