Scarsdale reminds residents and businesses that winter storms can bring freezing rain, ice, snow, high winds or a combination of these conditions. They can cause power outages that last for days, make roads and walkways very dangerous and can affect community services.

Personal planning and preparation can help residents manage the impact of a winter storm and keep them and their family safe. Families should include in their plans a provision for checking on neighbors unable to help themselves during a winter storm event.

Scarsdale residents and businesses are encouraged to review FEMA’s "How to Prepare for a Winter Storm" and take steps to prepare now.
