Westy Self Storage Supports Operation Santa Donation Drive

STAMFORD, Conn. – Westy Self Storage announced its continued support of the Operation Santa Donation Drive on Thursday and will kick off the holiday campaign next week.

“It is our pleasure to again support Operation Santa,” said Joe Schweyer, district director of Westy Self Storage in Stamford. “Thanks to the efforts of so many, this program continues to spread joy to so many children, year after year."

Founded by Kaisa Newhams, Operation Santa will host its annual collection and distribution of winter coats and toys to underprivileged children at Benjamin Franklin School/P.S. 55 in the Bronx, N.Y.

Come to Westy Self Storage in Stamford and pick up a child’s wish list Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. Westy is pleased to once again be designated as the donation drop-off location for Operation Santa. Westy will also provide storage for the donations as well as final delivery via Westy trucks to the school. This drive will run from Nov. 16 to Dec. 14.

Westy is honored to again host the kick off reception in its lobby at 80 Brownhouse Road in Stamford on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m.  During this reception, "Dear Santa" letters written by the children will be showcased. Guests are welcome to take as many letters as they would like and fulfill the children’s holiday dreams, as well as provide a warm coat, mittens and a hat.

All are encouraged to attend the reception and participate by giving these children a much deserved holiday surprise.

Westy is open for donation drop offs seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays. Call 203-961-8000 or visit www.westy.com for directions.

“The generosity provided by those answering the ‘Dear Santa’ letters will be the only Christmas these children have,” said Kaisa Newhams, founder of Operation Santa.  “Additionally, without the continued help of Westy, we would not be able to continue to expand our effort to include more and more children each year.

"Westy’s assistance in providing a drop-off location, secure storage and delivery of the donations, greatly reduces the logistical challenges of the program, thereby allowing us to focus more attention on the children and their needs.”
