SCARSDALE, N.Y. – All roads in Scarsdale have been re-opened as the village recovers from Hurricane Sandy, village officials said.
According to Assistant Village Manager John Goodwin, the six inches of snow dropped Wednesday from the nor’easter that followed the storm are in the process of being cleared from roadways.
Of the 6,070 Con Edison customers in Scarsdale, 1,416 remain without power, among the most of any community in Westchester County. Con Edison has said that there will be restoration for all residents by midnight Friday, with countywide restoration coming by Sunday.
Ten restoration crews are currently working in Scarsdale in the Palmer, Post, Weaver and Murray Hill areas. Con Edison has said nearly 1,000 residents will have power restored on Thursday. Power may be temporarily disconnected in certain areas of the village while employees work on other areas of the village.
