The Amber Alert issued early Friday morning has been canceled after both the missing 6-year-old girl and the suspect were located near midday in Pennsylvania, according to an announcement by Pennsylvania State Police.

Both the suspect and the girl, located in State College, Pa., are in police custody.

Original report, Friday, 8 a.m.

An Amber Alert has been issued Friday morning for 6-year-old Aylin Sofia Hernandez of Bridgeport, Conn., who might be with her father, who is a suspect in an overnight fatal stabbing in Bridgeport, police said.

In addition to Connecticut, the alert includes Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Dutchess and New York City as well as Columbia, Greene, Orange, Sullivan and Ulster.

The Bridgeport Police Department activated the Amber Alert and is investigating a child abduction that occurred on Greenwood Street in Bridgeport at about 3:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24.

Aylin Sofia Hernandez is a Hispanic girl with black hair and brown eyes. She is 4 feet tall and weighs about 55 pounds. Police did not know what she was wearing when she was abducted.

The suspect is her father Oscar Hernandez, a 39-year-old Hispanic male with short brown hair and brown eyes. He is 5-foot-3 inches and weighs about 185 pounds.

The vehicle has been identified as an Enterprise rental car, 2017 silver Hyundai Sonata with Connecticut registration AG91925.

Hernandez was last seen Friday morning traveling on Jennings Street in the Bronx, according to authorities.

The landlord of the building at 69 Greenwood St. in Bridgeport called police about a stabbing around 2:45 a.m. and officers found two stabbing victims, one of whom is dead, NBC Connecticut said.

Anyone with any information on this abduction is asked to call 911 immediately to provide information on a report or sighting.
