Con Ed Makes Dry Ice Available Near Scarsdale

SCARSDALE - Con Ed crews are arriving in the village, according to Mayor Miriam Levitt-Flisser, as Scarsdale labors to recover from a powerful October snowstorm that knocked down trees and limbs, ripping down power lines and leaving thousands without electricity.

As hazards are removed and roads are gradually reopened, many residents are trying to deal with lack of heat and refrigeration. Flisser said that dry ice will be available from Con Ed from 1 to 7 p.m. The closest location to Scarsdale is at the Midway Shopping Center at 955 Central Park Ave., near the Yonkers-Greenburgh line.

As of 1 p.m. Tuesday, about 1,340 people remained witout power in the Scarsdale area. The estimated restoration time for the majority of customers, Flisser said, is midnight Wednesday.

All schools were open Tuesday at the regular times.
