SCARSDALE, N.Y. Con Ed officials said they are still on target to have power restored to Scarsdale customers by midnight Wednesday, according to Mayor Miriam Levitt-Flisser, but the company did add a caveat: There may be some complicated cases that take a bit longer.
Flisser said Con Ed estimates about 14,000 customers were still without power across Westchester County Wednesday afternoon.
The mayor also said there would be no need for a trick-or-treat makeup night, based on reports she got from Scarsdale Police officials, who said activity was about 80 to 90 percent of what it usually is on Halloween. The reduced number was mainly teenagers, she said.
"Many parents accompanied their children safely earlier in the evening and most were off the streets by 9 p.m." Flisser said via e-mail. "As a result, the village is not advocating for a makeup night."
