County Official to Address Scarsdale Forum

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Deputy County Executive Kevin J. Plunkett will present a State of the County message to the Scarsdale Forum at its meeting planned for 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, in the Scott Room of the Scarsdale Library.

The event is open to the public.

A reception honoring Friends of the Scarsdale Parks, the Conservation Advisory Council and Friends of the Weinberg Nature Center begins at 7:30 p.m. Plunkett's speech will follow the business portion of the membership meeting.

The forum's Sustainable Scarsdale Committee will host a panel discussing village sustainability initiatives, including the recent announcement of future leaf mulching on village-owned property. Panelists include Mayor Miriam Levitt-Flisser, Trustee Kay Eisenman and Anne Jaffe Holmes, coordinator of environmental projects at the Greenburgh Nature Center.

Holmes has been teaching, leading programs, and creating community dialogues on environmental topics at the Greenburgh Nature Center for five years, and was previously an environmental educator for Westchester County Parks. She is also a volunteer member of the Green Policy Task Force for the Village of Irvington, and a founding member of the Love 'Em & Leave 'Em Initiative.
