Greenburgh Family Holding Out Hope To Find Lauren Spierer

GREENBURGH, N.Y. – Although their daughter has been missing for more than three years, the parents of Lauren Spierer, the Greenburgh woman who disappeared in 2011, are holding out hope that they may see her again.

In a Facebook post on the official Lauren Spierer Updates page, the family made an impassioned plea to the public to utilize social media to help find the 20-year-old Indiana University student, who vanished in Bloomington, Ind.

“Quickly spread the news of Lauren’s disappearance in June of 2011. LAUREN IS STILL MISSING. Please help us find Lauren by keeping her tragic story alive,” they wrote. “Please like, share, tweet - @NewsOnLaurenS. We cannot, will not, give up our search with the hope of bringing Lauren home. (More than three) years (and) someone is still keeping this horrible secret.”

Spierer was last seen on June 3, 2011 after leaving a party at Kilroy’s Sports Bar at approximately 4:30 a.m. Numerous bodies have been found in the immediate area since then, but DNA evidence has ruled out the Edgemont High School graduate in each case.

Both the Bloomington police and FBI have investigated and tens of thousands of tips have been phoned in to police officials since her disappearance, though none of come to fruition.
