Harrison Town Hall Sidewalk Repaired For Safety

HARRISON, N.Y. – The sidewalk and curbs in front of Harrison Town Hall are being repaired for the safety of the public.

“They [sidewalk and curbs] had deteriorated to the point that they were creating safety hazards for pedestrians,” said DPW Commissioner Anthony Robinson. “We hope to have it done this week.”

The decision was made during a special Aug. 21 village board meeting. Hawthorne-based Landi Contracting Inc. was awarded the bid at a price of $219,675.

“We picked this week because we knew there was no court in session,” Robinson said. “We wanted to make sure that there was as little inconvenience as possible.”

Robinson said the move also came down to improving the town.

“Everybody likes to see the town get improved,” he said. “This is highly visible, being right in front of Town Hall. This contractor, we’ve had experience with him before, he does a very good job. So he’ll do a good job with this one, too, I’m sure.”
