A New York man who threatened a Las Vegas-type massacre against a Denver company, while trying to extort money from the tech start-up, was arrested Tuesday, said the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.

The U.S. attorney's office in Brooklyn said that Victor Casillas, 34, of Manhattan sent threatening emails to company employees telling them to "Get ready for a Las Vegas repeat," according to the criminal complaint.

The emails, most profanity-laced, came just three days after the Las Vegas attack that left 58 people dead and more than 500 injured.

Some contained photos of submachine guns and a silencer, and named several company employees by name, including one that made reference to decapitation, the complaint said.

Casillas signed up with the company, which developed a mobile app that allows users to earn cash rebates on products, as far back as 2014, and then set-up at least 14 accounts under different email addresses in an attempt to fraudulently generate referral bonuses, the complaint said.

When the company tried to sever ties with Casillas he began sending the threatening emails between Sept. 26 and Oct. 4, and complained about "wasting three hours and hundreds of dollars."

Casillas also claimed to have traveled to Colorado to enact his terror threats.

“Please tell loved ones to start picking out a nice beautiful casket and plan a decent funeral,” he allegedly threatened.

Casillas’ IP address and GPS location, which put him in the Brooklyn area, and other New York locations, were used by the FBI to help locate him, the complaint said.
