GREENBURGH, N.Y. — Robert and Charlene Spierer of Greenburgh will appear on the Katie Couric's ABC show "Katie" Monday at 3 p.m. as part of their continuing effort to find their missing daughter.
Eighteen months after Lauren Spierer, a 20-year-old student at Indiana University, vanished, the couple are working to keep their daughter's case alive with a segment called "Vanished: Gone Without a Trace." The show will feature 85,000 active missing-persons cases and John Walsh, host of "America's Most Wanted."
The tragic disappearance of Lauren, a 2009 Edgemont High School graduate, still hits home in Greenburgh. In May, Edgemont High School students collected donations for the Find Lauren Fund and hosted a presentation by Greenburgh police on self-defense techniques and staying safe at college.
The Spierers have an active Facebook page, and recent tweets with a #findlauren hashtag show the community's determination to help find Lauren. One Twitter user wrote Monday, "18 months too long. We will never give up, #findlauren."
