Reward Offered In Search For SUV Driver In Westchester Hit-Run Involving Pedestrian

A reward has been issued as police attempt to track down the driver who was involved in a hit-and-run that hospitalized a 78-year-old man in the area.

The New York State Crime Stoppers issued a reward of up to $2,500 as police search for the woman that struck Jose Cortes in Port Chester on Tuesday as he was crossing the road.

According to police, “a woman with light skin and dark hair was driving a white, silver, or light-colored SUV believed to be a Ford Explorer or Expedition” struck Cortes at approximately 4:55 p.m. on North Main Street before fleeing onto Highland Street. He reportedly broke several toes in the incident, but is in good condition and has been released from the hospital.

No driver has come forward. In response, the New York State Crime Stoppers have offered the reward. Anyone with information regarding the incident can contact the Crime Stoppers hotline by calling 1-866-313-8477.
