Sandy Knocks Out Power To More Than 1,500 In Scarsdale

UPDATE: – More than 1,500 ConEdison customers in Scarsdale were in the dark Monday night about 10:30 p.m., according to the power company's website.

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – As Hurricane Sandy socked Scarsdale more than 233 customers had been affected by the storm by 4:15 p.m., according to ConEdison.

On Grand Boulevard, nine outages affecting 145 residents were reported. Power was expected to be restored by 9 p.m. Nearby, on Whig Road, there was one outage from branches falling on wires.

Service wires fell on Richbell Road, causing four outages affecting 10 people. Partial outages on Malvern Lane and Abbey Close have affected 54 customers.

There were also outages on Livingston Road, Puritan Drive and Madison Road.
