“4x4 Fitness: An Hour of Power” provides four exercises to be performed in four 1-minute blocks for a whole body workout. The eight-session course meets from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. on Mondays at the Girl Scout House.
“20/20/20: Three Workouts in One” is a cross-training sampler platter, featuring 20 minutes each of cardio, strength training and stretching. This course meets from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on eight Thursdays at Greenville Community Church starting Sept. 11 ($145) or ten Fridays from 11 a.m. to noon at Westchester Reform Temple starting Sept. 12 ($180). Scarsdale Adult School offers five types of yoga for beginners to advanced students, including chair-based classes and courses specific to hatha and vinyasa practices.
New this semester is Jan Bloom’s Yoga Workshop Series where students select from the following two- session workshops best suited to their needs: sciatica/low back pain, upper back/shoulder/neck strength, core strength or balance.
Classes featured in September are courses in body sculpting, fit blast, Mat Pilates, MELT Method® for anti-aging, and the ever-popular “Walk Live Workout.” Line dancing and Zumba are also back. Registration is first-come, first-served. Both day and evening meeting times are available. Course locations vary by class but are at the following convenient local venues: the Girl Scout House, Greenville Community Church, Westchester Reform Temple, Yoga Station in Hartsdale and Scarsdale High School.
