Scarsdale Civil Servants Celebrated At Ceremony

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Members of the Scarsdale Police and Fire departments and the Scarsdale Volunteer Ambulance Corps were honored Friday at the Crossways Firehouse in an annual awards ceremony.

The ceremony recognized members of Scarsdale’s civil service and, for the first time, volunteer responders. Scarsdale Fire Chief Thomas Cain awarded the village’s first Medal of Honor.

Officials who addressed the assembly included Mayor Miriam Levitt Flisser, Police Chief John Brogan, Deacon Ted Gaskin, Village Manager Al Gatta, Ambulance Corps President David Raizen, Cain, Police Commissioner Jon Mark and Fire Commissioner Kay Eisenman. Scarsdale High School student Sophie Laruelle performed the national anthem.
