SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Mayor Robert Steves has announced that the Village of Scarsdale has entered a state of emergency because of the snowstorm that continues to dump snow on Westchester County.
The mandate states that all non-emergency vehicles and parking on village streets has been prohibited until the state of emergency is lifted. Any vehicle that is found in violation of the declaration is in danger of being towed at the expense of the owner.
“I, Robert J. Steves, as Mayor of the Village of Scarsdale, herein exercise the authority given to me under New York State Executive Law, Article 2-B to preserve the public safety and hereby render all required and available assistance vital to the security, well-being and health of the residents of the village,” the mandate said.
Residents may park their vehicles in the Freightway Garage, beginning at 3 p.m., and the vehicles must be removed by midnight on Sunday.
