Beginning at 9 p.m. on Monday, in an effort to aid DPW crews clearing roadways, all street parking is prohibited village wide, until the state of emergency is lifted. In the interim, the Freigthway Parking Garage will be available for free parking for village residents.
The state of emergency will not be lifted until Steves determines the streets are safe.
Any storm-related calls should be directed to the Scarsdale Emergency Operations Center, which will be opened at 6 p.m. on Monday at Village Hall. All village meetings that were scheduled for Monday have been cancelled, and the meeting scheduled for Tuesday is tentatively scheduled to proceed with a limited agenda. It will be resumed on Thursday.
There will be no garbage collection on Tuesday, or recycling collection Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service, which has issued blizzard and winter weather warnings, on Monday, there will be light snow in New Rochelle through the beginning of the afternoon, before “blizzard like conditions” hit the area through Tuesday.
