Scarsdale Fire Department Incident Report

The following incidents were reported by the Scarsdale Fire Department:

Eight people walked away from a three-car crash Friday on the Bronx River Parkway, southbound north of Exit 12 (Crane Road).

Emergency crews responded to the 6:58 p.m. call involving two 2008 BMWs carrying multiple passengers and a Westchester County help truck. According to the Scarsdale Public Safety incident report, the eight people involved were checked at the scene and no major injuries were reported. and none were taken to the hospital. Both BMWs were towed, but the county truck left under its own power.

Sept. 26: A false alarm was reported at 146 Griffen Ave. Alarm malfunctioned.

Sept. 26: A false alarm was reported at 23 Tunstall Road. Homeowner was cleaning a barbecue grill.

Sept. 26: An electrical wiring hazard was reported at 14 Brook Lane. A painter working on the residence said he hit a wire running to the house with his shoulder and it caused a spark, shaking him up, but not causing injury. Con Edison responded to fix the problem.

Sept. 26: Lockout assistance was requested at 48 Chesterfield Road.

Sept. 26: A gas leak was reported at Birchall Drive and Dolma Road. Investigation showed gas leaking into the atmosphere at an open excavation. Con Edison was called to fix the leak.

Sept. 26: False alarm was reported at 8 Dolma Road. Alarm malfunctioned.

Sept 27: A false alarm was reported at 25 Wildwood Road.

Sept. 27: A gas leak was reported at Franklin Road and Penn Boulevard. A slight odor was detected, but no meter readings or cause were found.

Sept. 28: A carbon monoxide incident was reported at 29 Valley Road. A CO alarm sounded in the residence, and emergency responders evacuated the home's occupants. A check of the building detected a slight reading in the boiler room. Further investigation showed the cause to be a car running in an adjacent garage with an interior basement door open.

Sept. 29: An automatic alarm was set off by smoke from cooking at 49 Fenimore Road.

Sept. 29: A water problem was reported at 2 Overhill Road. A pipe was found to be leaking in the boiler room. A custodian on the scene said he'd make necessary repairs.

Sept. 29: An electrical problem was reported at 15 Bradford Road. A burning odor was reported, along with malfunctioning lights. Responders turned off the circuit breakers and advised the homeowner to call an electrician.

Sept. 29: A lockout was reported at 35 Graham Road. Entry was gained by responders through a second-floor window.

Sept. 29: A downed power line was reported at 214 Madison Road. A large tree branch had fallen and was resting on a primary line, shutting down power to the area. Con Ed responded to repair the problem.

Oct. 1: A false alarm was reported at 18 Black Birch Lane. The smoke detector sounded due to a malfunction.

Oct. 1: A false alarm was reported at 15 Vernon Road. An alarm malfunctioned.

Oct. 1: An alarm sounded at 5 Elmdorf Drive caused by smoke from cooking.

Oct. 1: A man was locked in a bathroom at 10 Cornell St. A malfunctioning door knob had the man trapped. Rescue workers removed the door and knob cylinder, then replaced the door.

Oct. 1: A false alarm was reported at 171 Clarence Road. The alarm was activated by a hair dryer.

Oct. 2: An electrical problem was reported at 17 Rural Drive. Responders found that a noise in the master bath was caused by a squeaky fan.
