Scarsdale Mayor Declares State Of Emergency

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Scarsdale Mayor Miriam Flisser declared a state of emergency beginning at noon Monday as Hurricane Sandy reached Sound Shore.

The declaration forbids driving on village streets, and all parked cars are to be moved immediately. The state of emergency will remain in effect until Flisser lifts it.

“The State of Emergency has been declared due to emergency conditions resulting from Hurricane Sandy in order to protect the health, safety and welfare of the residents of the village of Scarsdale,” her statement said.
