SCARSDALE, N.Y. An Overlook Road resident reported Sunday that her diamond engagement ring, worth $13,000, had been taken from her home.
According to the Scarsdale Police report, the woman said the last time she saw the ring was in May or June, and did not realize it had been taken until around Oct. 27. She described the piece as a 1.07 carat diamond mounted on a 14 karat gold ring. She told police the ring was purchased on May 6, 1985 for about $6,330.
She also told police that several people had access to the home during the period in which she believes the ring was taken, according to the report. Several workers were employed to do renovations on the home while she was away over the summer, she said, and she had employed several different housekeepers.
Police are investigating.
