SCARSDALE, N.Y. The proposed 2012-2013 Scarsdale Village budget is now available online .
Village Manager Alfred Gatta filed the budget proposal Friday with the Village Clerk's office, four days ahead of the deadline set by the state. There will be a public hearing on the tentative budget at the regular Board of Trustees meeting at 8 p.m. April 10. State law requires the budget be adopted by May 1.
The proposal sets the budget at $48,899,129 compared with $46,955,697 in 2011-2012, an increase of $1,943,432, or 4.14 percent. The proposal recommends a tax rate of $241.68 per thousand dollars of assessed valuation. Compared to the $229.09 rate established in 2011-2012, this represents a 5.49 percent increase from 2011-2012. The proposal, if adopted, would mean a homeowner in Scarsdale, with an average assessed value of $23,800, will see a $299.64 increase in the 2012-2013 village tax bill.
