Storm Knocks Out Power To Thousands In Westchester

Nearly 2,000 Westchester County residents have found themselves in the dark on Tuesday afternoon as severe storms move through the area.

Con Edison is reporting 57 outages, which are impacting 1,678 of their Westchester County customers. Nearly 200 NYSEG customers in Northern Westchester are also reporting outages.

New Rochelle was among the areas hit the hardest, with 1,161 Con Ed customers reporting outages as of 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. Other municipalities reporting outages include White Plains (350 outages), Eastchester (58), Scarsdale (49), Cortlandt (48), Briarcliff Manor (25), Harrison (22) Hastings-on-Hudson (19), Croton-on-Hudson (15), Mount Pleasant and Ossining (14 each).

NYSEG customers in North Salem (67 outages), Pound Ridge (65), Bedford (59) and Patterson (two) also were reporting outages. 

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect until 10 p.m. Tuesday.
