Verizon issued a statement assuring its customers they won’t be charged for “domestic voice and text usage” incurred between Oct. 29 and Nov. 16.
No action is required by customers in order for eligibility for the program.
“It’s as if the customer never placed or received calls and text messages during that time period,” said Verizon spokesperson Andrea Kimmet. She added that even customers who incurred additional charges during that time period will have those charges removed as well.
Westchester County residents who are Verizon Wireless customers do not need to apply for this program; if you live in the region, your account will be automatically adjusted.
“The process will remove all voice and text activity incurred between Oct. 29 and Nov. 12. Customers will not receive an actual credit on the bill, said Kimmet, but they won’t see any usage charges for voice and text activity during that period.”
“The best thing about this,” said Kimmet, “Is that our customers don’t need one additional worry where their phone bills are concerned. The charges will be removed. It’s that simple.”
Additional requests, said Verizon, will be addressed on a case-by-case basis. Call (800) 922-0204 for more information.
