SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Many changes are planned around Scarsdale in 2013 as the village plans to continue several projects that they’ve been working on in recent years that have the potential to re-shape the area.

Following Hurricane Sandy, the village came under fire for its stringent regulations on permanent emergency generators on properties. Various committees have been working on revisions to those regulations, and new plans should be drawn up in the coming weeks.

Scarsdale Mayor Miriam Levitt Flisser said that she hopes to renovate the aging infrastructure in the village. This includes the Reeves Newsome Pumping Station, upgrades to storm water installations similar to the landscaped retention basins at George Field Park and Cooper Green.

There will be improvements made to the Emergency Notification System and an expansion on environmental rain gardens. Village officials plan to modernize Building Department regulations and to conclude the village-wide property reevaluation.
