White Plains Hospital's Medical, Wellness Center Comes To Armonk

ARMONK, N.Y. -- For North Castle residents, premier medical care is truly 'right down the road' thanks to the opening White Plains Hospital's new urgent care Medical and Wellness Center in Armonk, which opened its doors on Tuesday.

The 24,000-square- foot facility, located at 99 Business Park Drive, is easily accessible from routes 684 and 22 to and plans to serve residents throughout northern Westchester. The affiliated urgent care is the first of its kind to open within the county, according to a hospital release.

The Hospital marked the occasion with an open house for the community and ribbon cutting ceremony attended by several regional businesses, as well as Town Supervisor Michael Schiliro.

“We have been a trusted provider of quality health services for residents of northern Westchester for years,” said White Plains Hospital President and CEO Susan Fox, who spoke at the open house. “We are pleased to now make many of those exceptional services available closer home for this community.”

 “We hope that by bringing urgent care to Armonk, we will fill help fill a gap in the area, particularly for those individuals with less severe illnesses and injuries who can be treated effectively and efficiently in an ambulatory setting,” said Dr. Rafael E. Torres, director of Emergency Medicine at White Plains Hospital, and Medical Director for the new center.

White Plains Hospital Medical and Wellness’ urgent care center will be open 7 days a week for after-hour ailments and injuries, such as flu, sore throats and common sprains, which are not necessarily severe enough to require emergency room visits. Hours are 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on weekends. The center is staffed by experienced, board-certified physicians.

In addition to the urgent care center, the facility also offers comprehensive primary care and other services, including pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, endocrinology, and extended hours for imaging services.

A full-service Diagnostic Imaging Center is open weekdays from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. The center offers a full range of diagnostic imaging and laboratory services, including MRI, silent MRI, a 64-slice CT scan, pediatric radiology, sonohysterography, 3D mammography, 3D breast ultrasound and bone densitometry.
