Mitchell was born Dec. 26, 1941, to Carl and Anne Hoffbauer. She grew up in Manhattan and worked for The Sheffield as concierge for many years. She was a member of the Scarsdale Community Baptist Church for over 20 years.
Mitchell is survived by her husband, Fred Mitchell; children, Robert (Denise) Poselle, Tiffany (Joseph) Soares, and Erik (Jennifer) Mitchell; four grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Huels (Frank); and two nieces.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 2 at Bennett Funeral Home, 824 Scarsdale Ave., Scarsdale, NY 10538. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at Scarsdale Community Baptist Church, 51 Popham Road, Scarsdale.
