SCARSDALE, N.Y. - Dr. Alan F. Lyon of Scarsdale died Sept. 22. He was 84.
Dr. Lyon was born Sept. 21, 1929, in Queens, to John and Therese Lyon. He graduated from Fordham Prep and Fordham University. He graduated from New York University Medical School in 1954. He was a captain in the United States Army for the Medical Army Services. He was discharged in 1964. He worked as a cardiologist at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, for nearly 50 years. Director of Medicine and chief of staff were among the many positions he held there. He was also a professor of Medicine at Downstate Medical Center and NYU Medical School.
Dr. Lyon is survived by his children, Marianne Hickman (Joseph), Elizabeth Milani (Mark), Patricia Lyon, Matthew Lyon (Joanne), Douglas Lyon (Carmen); and 12 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Anne Lyon.
Calling hours are Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26 at Our Lady of Fatima Church Scarsdale.
