Fannie Rella, 92, Former Scarsdale Hairdresser

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Filomena "Fannie" Justino Rella, a former Scarsdale hairdresser, died Aug. 1. She was 92. 

Rella owned and operated a hair salon in Scarsdale for many years. Even after selling her business, her family said that she continued doing her girlfriends' hair. She raised her family in New Rochelle and was an avid card player and reader. 

Rella was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Gennaro "Jerry" Rella; and a son, Joseph Rella. She is survived by two children, Geraldine Sciarra, and Gene Rella; and five grandchildren. 

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Yannantuono Burr Davis Sharpe Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Mount Vernon. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
