SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Janet Diane Nemeth, a 42-year resident of Scarsdale, died Sunday, Sept. 16. She was 76. 

Born in Bronx, N.Y., to Mary and Peter Matranga, she attended Theodore Roosevelt High School and Fordham University.

Nemeth is survived by her husband of 54 years, John Nemeth; two sons, David (Kristen) and Doug (Jennifer) Nemeth; a daughter, Jill (Stephen) Buckley; and three grandsons. 

Visiting hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Home in Scarsdale. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Scarsdale. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
