Michael Abruzese, 97, Formerly Of Scarsdale

POMPANO, Fla. - Michael Abruzese, of Pompano Fla., formerly of Scarsdale, N.Y., died March 9. He was 97.

Abruzese was born Dec. 15, 1915, in the Bronx to Benjamin and Anna Abruzese. He was the founder of Fairbanks Motors, Bonded Engine Rebuilders and Rotomatic, located in Yonkers, N.Y. Later, in Florida, he founded Transmission Queen.

Abruzese is survived by sons, Thomas Abruzese (Patricia), Michael Abruzese (Barbara); brother, Henry; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours are Friday March 22 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Yannantuono Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday March 23 at 9:45a.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows in White Plains. Entombment to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers contributions in Abruzese’s memory may be made to Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 920 Mamaroneck Ave, White Plains, NY 10606.
