Lagana was born in 1941, to Margaret Lawrence and Frank. He was an automotive mechanic who lived and worked in Scarsdale, at Bobby’s Automotive.
Lagana is survived by his brother, William; children, Marie Fritz, Laura Tanjeloff, Bobby and Dominick; longtime companion, Karen. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Marie; and daughter, Dinah.
Calling hours are Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Westchester Funeral Home, 190 Main St., Eastchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11 at Assumption Church, Tuckahoe.
In lieu of flowers, donations in the memory of Robert Lagana Sr. may be made to Drag Racing Association of Women or Hertzberg Palliative Care Institute at The Mount Sinai Medical Center.
