Leaf Removal Program Yields Cleaner Streets, Storm Drains In New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Because of the overwhelming participation in the city's new leaf collection policy, the Public Works crews were able to complete citywide leaf collection by the end of December.

The absence of leaf piles made for cleaner streets and storm drains. This coming summer and fall, the city will continue the “Love Em and Leave Em” mulch mowing program with local demonstrations. Mulch mowing makes for healthier lawns and gardens and reduces or eliminates the amount of material to haul away. For more information, visit www.newrochelleny.com/leaf.
