Bronxville Police Investigating Man With Stolen Purse Who Fled Cops

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - Investigators with the Bronxville Police Department are attempting to identifying a male suspect who was walking with an allegedly stolen woman’s purse late at night and proceeded to flee from responding officers approaching him.

Officers were dispatched to Locust Lane at approximately 5 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5 after the Police Desk Sergeant observed the suspicious man on village surveillance cameras carrying a woman’s purse and wandering through the area.

When officers arrived to question the suspect, police said that he fled the scene through a yard, leading to a manhunt.

Police said that the Tuckahoe Police Department assisted in the search for the man, and during the investigation, a purse containing what appears to be stolen items were recovered. Detectives investigating the incident noted that numerous vehicles were reportedly rummaged through near the Mount Vernon border that evening.
